SnapStream vs Premagic: photo delivery against an attendee-marketing platform

3 August 2026 · 10 min read

These two show up in the same search results and solve different problems. Premagic is an enterprise platform for turning conference attendees into marketers — AI avatars, advocacy posters, sponsor ROI, earned media value — with face-matched photo distribution as one module inside it. SnapStream is per-event photo delivery over WhatsApp, sold self-serve. Choosing between them is mostly a question of what you are actually trying to achieve.

Everything about Premagic below was read from its own site — the homepage, FAQ and photo distribution pages — on 3 August 2026. Premagic publishes no pricing: its pricing URL returns a 404, every call to action is "Book a Demo", and its FAQ describes usage-based pricing quoted per event. Third-party sites quote monthly figures; we could not verify any of them first-party, so we are not repeating them.

They are not really the same product

Premagic has visibly repositioned. Its homepage now leads with attendee-led marketing: pre-event, during-event and post-event social campaigns, AI avatars, branded advocacy posters, and a dashboard measuring impressions, reach by geography and ad spend saved. The case studies talk about driving registrations and organic reach, not about photo delivery. AI photo distribution is one module in that stack, and its job is to give attendees something worth posting.

SnapStream has a narrower goal: every guest gets the photos they are in, quickly, with as little friction as possible. There are sponsor overlays and engagement analytics, but the product is not trying to be a marketing platform.

The architectural difference: do you have an attendee list?

This is the distinction that actually decides fit, and it is easy to miss on a feature chart.

Premagic: faces register through your event flow

Attendees opt in by registering their face during event check-in or through the event registration flow. That is the right design for a conference: there is already a registration system, a badge, a check-in desk, and a known attendee list to attach faces to. Premagic plugs into that machinery.

SnapStream: guests self-onboard, no list required

There is no attendee list and no check-in step. A guest scans a QR code on a table card or a poster, WhatsApp opens, they send a selfie, and they are registered. The selfie is the consent. That works at a wedding where nobody is checking anyone in, at a festival where 30,000 people bought tickets under someone else's name, and at a corporate party where building a registration flow for photos would be absurd.

So: if you already run registration and check-in, Premagic's model is an advantage. If you do not — and most events outside the conference world do not — it is a prerequisite you would have to invent.

Scale, and where we stop

Premagic states it scales from 50-person events to conferences with tens of thousands of attendees, with no published ceiling. Its self-serve gallery setup takes uploads from Google Drive, documented at up to 3,000 images and 3GB per upload in JPEG.

SnapStream's self-serve tiers stop at Classic: 600 guests and 4,000 photos. Above that we quote too — festivals, conference series, stadium sport and brand activations are priced per event rather than bought from a pricing page. So at genuine enterprise scale, both of us are a sales conversation, and Premagic has been having those conversations for longer.

SnapStream self-serve tiers: price per event, guest cap and photo cap. Above Classic, events are quoted.

How you buy is part of the product

Premagic is sold through demos and quotes. That is a legitimate model — usage-based pricing genuinely does fit an enterprise buyer whose event varies from 500 to 15,000 people, and a good sales engineer will scope it better than a pricing page can. It also means you cannot budget from the website, cannot start on a Friday night, and cannot compare it against anything without booking a call.

SnapStream publishes every self-serve price, and the free Taster tier is a real event rather than a time-limited trial: up to 20 guests and 80 photos, permanently free, keeping the SnapStream watermark. You can prove the whole flow on a real event before paying anyone.

Both platforms build a biometric face template, and both say the right things: Premagic describes facial recognition as strictly opt-in with explicit consent and deletion on request, and states GDPR and CCPA compliance. SnapStream is opt-in by selfie, with per-guest revocation and deletion by WhatsApp command, built against POPIA.

Whichever you pick, ask the same three questions before signing: exactly what is stored, how long face vectors are retained after the event, and what a guest has to do to withdraw consent. Ours is set out in our privacy policy.
